Danish physiologist who studied medicine in Copenhagen (1872-78), receiving his medical degree in 1880. He was appointed professor of physiology at the University of Copenhagen in 1886. Christian Bohr was the father of the physicist Niels Bohr (born 1885) and mathematician Harald Bohr (born 1887).
