Portions of this entry contributed by Michel Barran

French mathematics teacher who, with O. Terquem (1782-1862), was editor of Nouvelles annales de mathématiques (which he cofounded in 1842). Gerono was born and died in Paris, and published many papers on geometry, Diophantine analysis in Nouv. Ann. Math. and Gergonne's journal Ann. Math.
